Seven dead in Texas military base shooting: reports

Armed gunmen Thursday killed seven people and wounded 12 others in a rampage at the Fort Hood military base in Texas, US media reported.

One gunman was in custody, but another remained on the loose on the sprawling base in Kileen, Texas, MSNBC television reported, adding that the shooter at large was believed to have a high-powered sniper rifle.

A Fox news affiliate said the shooting happened at a training center on the base. Army personnel told Fox news they were not sure if the victims were civilians or military personnel.
