On 30 April, Restaurant magazine publishes its hotly anticipated list of the top 50 places to eat on the planet. From its humble beginnings in 2002 the list and the accompanying awards have grown to become one of the most important events in world cuisine: over the past 10 years chefs on the list have become household names across the world, restaurants have shot to stardom and new cuisines have made it onto the global stage. We look back at those restaurants that have had the biggest impact so far.
