Schlierenzauer, Zyla take Oslo honours

World Cup champion Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria had to share the honours with Poland's Piotr Zyla on the large hill in Oslo on Sunday in landing his ninth win of the season and 49th of his career.

Schlierenzauer had missed the podium in his past three meetings but in this the penultimate event of the season he came back to form as he and Zyla totalled 270.1 points to leave Slovenia's Robert Kranjec third in 266.8.

Norwegian Anders Bardal, second in the overall standings, could only manage seventh with Pole Kamil Stoch, winner at Kuopio and Trondheim, coming in fourth as Schlierenzauer, assured of his second World Cup crown, jumped 134.5m and 135.0m and Zyla landing distances of 135,5 + 133.5.

The season ends next weekend at Planica, Slovenia.
