NBA: Lakers owner hospitalized for dehydration
Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss was hospitalized on Tuesday with dehydration but is expected to make a full recovery, team spokesman John Black said.
The 78-year-old doctor bought the NBA club in 1979 and has seen the team win 10 league championships during his tenure. The Lakers own 16 NBA crowns overall.
Black said that Buss was expected to be released soon.
Just last December, Buss was hospitalized with blood clots in his legs, a result of too much travel. Buss had been attending negotiation sessions as the NBA owners and players tried to settle a bitter money dispute.
The league and players union came together and a season shortened from 82 to 66 games per team was started last Christmas, but only after uncertainty that there would be any campaign at all.
