NBA: Howard set to go to Los Angeles, report

The Los Angeles Lakers are close to finalizing a deal to acquire all-star centre Dwight Howard in a multi-player, four-team NBA deal, ESPN reported on Friday.

The US sports broadcaster said a conference call has been scheduled with the league to try and get final approval for the deal which would also see Lakers centre Andrew Bynum go to the Philadelphia 76ers.

The trade would also send forward Al Harrington and guard Arron Afflalo from the Denver Nuggets to the Magic.

Philadelphia will trade forward Andre Iguodala to Denver and centre Nikola Vucevic and first-round draft pick Moe Harkless to the Magic. The Orlando Magic will ship guard Jason Richardson to the 76ers.

Nothing is official and reports said before the deal can be finalized, the NBA will have a conference call between the general managers of the teams involved. The league must then approve of the trade.
