Europe claim four Olympic berths
Turkey, France, the Czech Republic and Croatia booked their berths in the women's basketball competition at the London Olympics by winning their quarter-final matches here on Friday.
The four losers - Argentina, South Korea, Japan and Canada - will compete for the fifth and final qualfying spot this weekend.
The four European teams join already qualified Britain, Russia, Australia, Brazil, China and the United States at the July 27 to August 12 Olympics.
Croatia and Turkey beat Canada (59-56) and Argentina (72-58) respectively to advance to the Olympics for the first time.
The Czech Republic, fifth at the 2004 Olympics and reigning world silver medallists, beat Japan 53-47 to book a spot in their third Olympics.
France qualified for their second Games after Sydney by beating South Korea 80-63.
