Chinese police capture suspect in family slaughter
Police in China said Sunday they had captured a man suspected of hacking to death his parents, wife, sons and sister in Beijing.
Li Lei was apprehended on Saturday in Sanya, a resort city in the southern tropical island of Hainan, the Beijing public security bureau said in a statement.
Police received a tip-off on Friday that several people had died in Li's house in a southern district of Beijing. They discovered six bodies there, according to the statement.
Li had confessed to fleeing China's capital on Monday after murdering his family members, it said, without providing any more details.
The news comes after several other grisly murders in China.
Police in the south are searching for one man suspected of murdering his parents and four other relatives after escaping from a mental hospital, and another believed to have killed five of his girlfriend's relatives.
