The S3 has a number of notable features that make it stand out from the crowd. Smart Stay uses the front facing camera to know when you're in front of it. This stops the phone going dark when you're looking at it for extended periods without touching it - when watching a movie perhaps.

Direct Call uses the motion detector and proximity sensor inside the phone to guess when you want to make a call. So when you're reading a text from a friend and move the handset up to your ear, it will automatically call that person. We tried it out and it worked well - you get a small vibration as feedback so you know it's registered your Direct Call successfully.
