1995: Courtney Love heckles Madonna
In a pre-show segment of the 1995 VMAs, MTV VJ Kurt Loder was conducting a live interview with Madonna, when a powder compact was launched in their direction. The assailant was an attention-starved Courtney Love and, not knowing what else to do, Loder invited her to join the Q&A. What ensued was a classic Love rambling, where she gabbled about hospitals, Ted Nugent, astrophysics, PETA and Birkenstocks. Madge remained calm and dignified until her publicist dragged her away, leaving Courtney on her lonesome to crawl around on the ground and partake in an even more awkward exchange with Tabitha Soren.
